Pioneer Village
Who settled here
Most early settlers arrived to this area because of the Free Land Grant Act of 1868 in where the head of a family could receive, on conditions, a free grant of land.
Activities
The types of activities and demonstrations that happen at the Pioneer Village are (most have Indigenous and Pioneer information available):

- Cattail dolls/warriors
- Candle-dipping
- Sample scones or bannock
- Dress like a pioneer
- Children’s games
- Laundry day
- Wool carding
- Rug making
- Blacksmith
- Nature’s treasures hunt
