Accessibility

Our sites

We want to ensure everyone can explore and exprience Muskoka Heritage Place, and we continue to search for new ways to improve access to our site. If you require assistance or would like to provide feedback, please contact us.

Large print photo guide books are available on request. These will assist in delivering a more complete experience for our visitors with disabilities, who may be unable to gain entry to areas of our site as needed. With late 1800s to early 1900s construction practices and our commitment to protect and care for the artifacts, we may not alter the physical structures of our buildings.

All restrooms are fully accessible. The museum, train station, and train platform are fully accessible and some Pioneer Village building are ramped for wheelchair access. Train coaches accommodate up to two standard wheelchairs or one motorized scooter/power assisted chair. The Iroquois train is accessible with ramp access for wheelchairs.

Only registered service animals are welcome on the property and within our buildings. Please refer to the accessibility standards for customer service by-law on the Town of Huntsville website.

Website accessibility

New and returning online visitors are important to us. To help improve your online experience, we have put together a list of optional tools you can use to help navigate websites. These resources are available on the Town of Huntsville website.

Accessibility plan

The Town of Huntsville's Muskoka Heritage Place 2023-2027 Accessibility Plan is in place to identify and remove barriers, while preventing new barriers. The plan is reviewed annually and accomplishments achieved are noted in an addendum each year.
